REF NO: HO 2026/11/10 REQUIREMENTS: Relevant Degree/National Diploma (NQF level 6) in Behavioural Sciences. At least 5 years relevant experience gained in a supervisory post (NBC2). Successful completion of the Correctional Science Learnership or Basic Training. Experience in departmental management information system (MIS) will be added as advantage. Computer literate. NOTE: Appointment under the Correctional Services Act. DUTIES: Development, analysis and evaluation of remand detention policies and procedures. Participate in the policy and procedure formulation with regard to admission and releases of remand detainees. Assist with the development and monitoring tools to observe implemented policy and procedures on all remand detainees including special categories. Report on internal and external audits and ensure compliance or corrective actions. Monitor the implementation of bail protocol and relevant sections of Criminal Procedure Act 51 of 1977 and Correctional Services Act 111 of 1998 on remand detainees. Monitor the RD tool. Information analysis and writing. Monitor the implementation of the Child Justice Act 75 of 2008 and submission of reports to the intersectoral cluster on child justice. Manage the wearing of uniform of remand detainees. Management of human resource, finance and assets. Manage compliance with the department supply chain management policy within remand detention.
