A specialist Cardiology practice in Pretoria is seeking to recruit an experienced Cardiac Technologist. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing advanced cardiac diagnostic procedures, assisting in interventional cardiology procedures, and contributing to the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment. Responsibilities: - Conduct cardiovascular diagnostic procedures including resting ECGs, stress ECGs, echocardiograms, carotid dopplers, and other non-invasive cardiac investigations - Perform lung function testing on in-room patients - Conduct pacemaker testing and device assessments - Perform remote monitoring and management of cardiac devices - Analyse Holter monitor and ambulatory ECG recordings and prepare reports for cardiologist review - Assist in the Cath Lab with coronary angiograms, pacemaker procedures, TAVI, LAA Plug, CTO, and related interventions - Monitor patients during diagnostic and interventional procedures, including vital signs and clinical status - Perform blood draws, administer medications within scope of practice, and prepare patients for procedures - Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain cardiovascular diagnostic equipment - Ensure adequate stock levels of clinical consumables and equipment - Accurately record patient information, test results, and clinical findings - Generate reports and communicate findings to cardiologists and other healthcare professionals - Manage theatre lists and liaise with theatre staff, radiographers, anaesthetists, and other healthcare professionals regarding scheduled procedures - Educate patients regarding procedures, expected outcomes, and necessary precautions - Adhere to infection control, safety, and quality assurance protocols - Collaborate with cardiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care - Participate in clinical audits, research activities, and continuous professional development - Maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation Qualifications & Requirements: - B Tech Clinical Technology or equivalent qualification - Current HPCSA registration as a Clinical Technologist - Minimum 3 years' experience as a Cardiac Technologist - PSC in Cardiac Technology advantageous - BSE accreditation advantageous - Computer literacy essential - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification advantageous - Strong understanding of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology - Experience within a Cath Lab environment advantageous Skills & Attributes: - Strong technical competence in cardiovascular diagnostics and monitoring - Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting specialised cardiac equipment - High attention to detail and accuracy - Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Ability to explain medical procedures clearly and professionally to patients - Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills - Patient-centred, compassionate, and professional approach - Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond appropriately to clinical changes - Strong organisational and time management skills - Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team - Professional integrity, accountability, and commitment to patient safety - Commitment to continuous learning and professional development - Physically capable of assisting patients and standing for extended periods when required Hours: Monday to Friday, 08h00 – 17h00 Every second weekend when required Start Date: ASAP Only candidates who meet all the minimum requirements stipulated in the advert, will be considered.
