About the job
We are seeking an experienced Mid to Senior-Level Accountant to join our client’s team. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. Key Performance Areas: - Manage day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping functions. - Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports. - Perform bank, creditor, debtor and general ledger reconciliations. - Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. - Assist with month-end and year-end financial procedures. - Prepare and submit VAT, PAYE and other statutory returns. - Assist with annual financial statements and audit requirements. - Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with relevant legislation. - Provide financial insights and support management with accounting-related queries. Requirements: - Relevant BCom Accounting / BCompt / Accounting qualification or equivalent. - Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a similar accounting role. - Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting. - Experience with VAT, PAYE and SARS eFiling. - Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, Sage, Pastel or similar. - Strong Excel skills will be advantageous. - Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. - Strong communication and organisational skills. - Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
